Hobbs launches the Palace Collection
This September sees the launch of HOBBS’ THE PALACE Collection, its seventh award-winning collaboration with Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity responsible for six magnificent historic palaces across the UK.
The latest collaboration in our award-winning series with Historic Royal Palaces has been inspired by Queen Victoria’s childhood home, Kensington Palace, notably Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden and its impressive array of vibrant and exotic planting and her renowned love of horses. With a story to tell behind every garment, this collection of limited edition pieces is unique to Hobbs.
Kensington Garden Coat £299.00
The Kensington Garden coat is made in an ultra-luxurious jacquard, woven especially for this collection in Italy, in a striking mix of teal and olive threads. The olive coloured florals are highlighted with a blue lurex thread for a lustrous finish, whilst the interior of the coat has a smooth olive lining and matching under-collar. It has a timeless town silhouette - beautifully tailored and single breasted with bronze button fastenings.
Victoria Floral Dress £249.00
Part of the Palace Collection the vibrant botanical print on this silk rich dress has been inspired by the sunken gardens at Kensington Palace. The skirt is bias cut for a full and fluid silhouette, whilst the waist is designed to be pulled in with the self-fabric belt to create an hourglass silhouette. The beauty of this dress is that it can be dressed up simply for evening with delicate accessories, but looks equally stylish with an oversized knit and ankle boots, for a luxury daytime outfit.
Inspired by the official tartan of HM Queen Elizabeth II, Royal Stewart tartan was favoured by Queen Victoria and continues to be by the Royal Family today. The beautiful heather purple tartan suit has been developed exclusively for Hobbs by Abraham Moon - one of the last remaining traditional woollen mills in Great Britain. The pure wool yarn is spun, woven and finished in Yorkshire, and the fabric has been crafted into a cropped, check riding inspired jacket, trouser and dress all finished with the sunken garden floral print lining.
Queen Victoria, was a keen equestrian and from a young age, was often seen riding in Kensington Palace Gardens. The timeless black and ivory Italian wool boucle jacket has been inspired by a mid-century print of Queen Victoria horse riding. Cut and finished with black piping that contours the body, it is finished with a stand out red under collar and lined with a hand painted watercolour horse print.
Equestrian Jacket £249.00
Equestrian influences continue across accessories, including the hero equestrian saddle bag crafted from black leather and hair on calf and equestrian buckle belt with traditional snaffle detailing.
Equestrian Buckle Belt £39.00
Update your accessories collection in luxury leather with the Equestrian buckle belt. A contemporary way to shape your silhouette, it features a sleek loop buckle and push popper fastenings, inspired by traditional saddlery.
Equestrian Saddle bag £199.00
Taking inspiration from a traditional riding bag, the Equestrian saddle bag is made in a contemporary mix of black smooth leather, and black hair-on finish leather which covers the front flap. It fastens with a sleek silver snaffle and has a shoulder strap which is adjustable with Sam Browne stud fastening. Part of our latest collaboration collection with Historic Royal Palaces, it gives a nod to British royal history, and Queen Victoria's renowned love of horses.
